A couple of weeks ago, I found this old lumber apron that I am not sure why I bought it but I did. The dingy old apron was calling me, I guess. I think I liked it because it said Springdale, Arkansas {which is the town next to mine}. I loved the idea of having something that said Arkansas so I can remember my time here in Arkansas. There have been a lot of things going on in my personal life {nothing bad......I promise} and I don't think Arkansas will be a place that my family will call home forever. Anyway, I am digressing....I decided to make a a skirt to the bottom of the apron and I used my best stash of vintage crochet trims and laces. I like how it is a bit industrial and soft and feminine at the same time and I think my mannequin likes it too. Happy Saturday!

It is beautiful - love it's vintage chicness.

Lori,
When I was in seventh grade (many years ago), my dad's medical partner's daughter (my friend, Lecia) was diagnosed with arthritis. They decided she needed to go "South" for the winter (we were in South Dakota, mind you). Guess where we went? To Springdale, Arkansas! I will never forget staying in her old house. We lived up in the attic (which was redone and beautiful) and she had a huge yard and a beautiful garden with a porch swing. It was a wonderful time and I had actually forgotten the name of that beautiful town until you mentioned it.
Lovely apron. Truly lovely,
Fondly,
Suz

The apron is beautiful! I came to Arkansas in 1989 and never figured I would stay here, but here I am living in Winslow in The Boston Mountains of The Ozark National Forest and I love it!!
