I think this is and was the best $28.00 I ever spent....what do you think? I was so excited to find a vintage wallpaper lingerie chest last week. I have always wanted one of these but I have never seen them when I am out and about. Well, I have to say it was my lucky day when I spotted it and I snapped it up as fast as I could. Which leads me to my problem, I had no clue where in the heck to put it. See you girls that have a entire room dedicated to your art/craft supplies don't have this issue. Me, I have the tiny hallway closet under the stairs for my art room and I constantly struggle with fitting everything in. I thought it was a perfect time to clean out my little space under the stairs and try and fit {maybe I should really say cram it in} it in my little space. On Saturday, I was suppose to do laundry and go to the grocery store but I tore apart my little art room instead. My husband came home and said what are you doing? Look at this mess, I said yep I know. Just let me do my thing. He just smiled and walked away....good husband uh? Here are a few photos of my mess.
After a couple of hours sifting through my JUNK, I re-organized and cleaned up my little space. I decided to use my new piece to store all of my vintage papers and trims since there are dividers built in. I figure that the paper would be light since it is made out of wallpaper and cardboard. I am so excited to have my paper organized...take a look.
It felt so good to clean out my space and get rid of things that I have been holding on to for some unknown reason. My middle child, Lily-Grace is going to be my craft girl, she was just chomping at the bit to get some of my vintage rejects. I love it! Here are a few shots from my space. You are probably going to look at them and say it really doesn't look different but trust me, it doesn't look like a hoarder lives there anymore!
I am off to meet my girls at the bus stop...have a great afternoon.

I'm working on my space, too! I love that vintage wallpaper cabinet thingie!

Hey, your mess looks just like mine! LOL. I think your pretty little chest fit perfectly and it's a real bonus to have all those little bits organized. Beautiful. I'm hoping to get back to building my studio now that hubbies ankle is on the mend from the last time we tried. But for now it's the corner of the kitchen for me. We haven't eaten at the dinner table in a very long time. It will be nice to move all that stuff to it's own place. So I sympathize with a small area, but at least you have a "dedicated" area that is only for creating. I have to constantly be on the lookout for food and drinks in mine, LOL. Hugs!

I watch the Hoarder shows on tv just to motivate me to clean up my house! As long as there are no dead animals under that you are fine.

When my kids were little I also had a closet for a craft studio. Sometimes I think having a small space kept me much more on-task. Or maybe it was that if I didn't work when the kids were either napping or otherwise engaged, I missed out.
I love your wallpaper lingerie chest. I have a much narrower one, but same wallpaper. They sure are pretty!
Happy Spring,

Oh what fun! It looks as lovely as the closet. And you save smaller scraps than I do!! Now I don't feel so "crazy" :)
