Anytime when I go antiquing I love to find glass jars (usually a pickle or jam jar or something awful like that) filled to the brim with new and old jewelry. Usually, I don't spend a lot on them and if they are under $10.00 I snap them up. Yes, I do end up usually throwing away half of it but the other half is usually pretty good. Take a look...
I think I need to go make some jewelry now...what do you think? Next time you are antiquing and you spot a pickle jar all taped up with something sparkly popping out, take a chance.
P.S. If you are wondering, I didn't have to throw away much of it.... It was a pretty good stash!
It has been a while since my last post and it seems like life is whirling around me. A couple of weeks ago I was in Disney with my family and the following weekend I went to visit Karla. It is such a treat to visit her and hang out in her lovely studio but it is even more of a treat when some of your favorite friends join you. We went to Bottoms Up in Kansas City for a little antique shopping.
After a little shopping and lunch we all headed to Carol's farm house and all I have to say is OMG. It was so beautiful and relaxing. It really left a lasting impression on me and I totally want to re-decorate my home. Here are some gorgeous snap shots of her home.
The following day we hung out in Karla's studio all day and talked, laughed and created wonderful things. Here are a few snap shots from her fabulous studio and I could of taken 100 more, there is so much inspiration housed in one spot.
Take a look at the supplies that Heather and Andrea brought with them. One word, FABULOUS!
Here are some of the projects we did that Karla showed us how to make.
It is so nice to hang out with friends and I wish we all lived closer. Well, it is back to reality...kids, work and every day life. I am home today because Lily-Grace has strep. Thanks for a great weekend Suzanne, Karla, Andrea, Heather and Jennifer.
