Anytime when I go antiquing I love to find glass jars (usually a pickle or jam jar or something awful like that) filled to the brim with new and old jewelry. Usually, I don't spend a lot on them and if they are under $10.00 I snap them up. Yes, I do end up usually throwing away half of it but the other half is usually pretty good. Take a look...
I think I need to go make some jewelry now...what do you think? Next time you are antiquing and you spot a pickle jar all taped up with something sparkly popping out, take a chance.
P.S. If you are wondering, I didn't have to throw away much of it.... It was a pretty good stash!

Lori, those jars are an amazing find! How do you get so lucky all the time?!! And such an amazing price too.

I'm often tempted by those jars, but always worry it's all junk. Maybe I'll take a chance next time! Looks like you found some goodies!

Oooh, sparkly things! I am curious if you ever repair them. I frequently run into beautiful rhinestone pieces where a rhinestone is missing. I ordered some loose rhinestones off eBay yesterday thinking I could use them for repairs but honestly don't know what I'm doing!

Lori,
The other half is really beautiful. Somehow my glass jars aren't as forthcoming but I do love the element of surprise....and I also like the glass jars!
Fondly,

Love these odd jars! I keep a crock by my desk that I dump unused jewelry bits with the intent of making a junk jar myself and just in case..... After tossing so many clip on earring backs I decided I loved some of the more ornate pieces and decided to use them in a pair of earrings. (a quick search on etsy showed me I wasn't the first to think of this!) I mentioned this to someone yesterday and they are saving them to use when making robots from Altoid tins. You never know!
