I have been waiting to post about this for quite some time now....On April 1st the new Where Women Create: The Book of Inspiration launches. Quite some time ago, Jenny Doh asked if I was interested to be a part of a project that she was working on with Jo Packham and of course I said yes. Hello...who would say no? I really didn't need any more details. I was so excited that my little studio was chosen to be a part of the book because I don't have an entire room dedicated to my art and where I create. I have a very small space carved out in my home that is just mine and I love it...even if it is the hall closet that I converted into my craft space. I think so many women think they need an entire room dedicated as a creative space, well you really don't. You just need a space large enough to have some elements that inspire you to create what ever your passions are. It could be as simple as a stack of vintage suitcases filled with your art supplies or a work space in the corner of your family room. Yes, I wish (one day I will have it) I had my own room that was filled to the brim with everything that inspires me so I could get rejuvenated and lost in my art away from disruptions. But for now, I have a sweet little closet that is filled (yes filled...my husband calls it a fire hazard) to the brim with everything that I love and when I step into my tiny space...I feel at peace. I just wish that when I bent down my bottom wouldn't knock things over....You can't have everything right?
So, here is the good news....I am going to give a away a free copy of the book to celebrate the anticipated launch. Leave a comment on this post and I will pick a winner on April 1st. If you want to purchase a copy...you can go to Jenny Doh's site to oder one, she is including a free gift, a mini crochet flower with each copy of the book purchased from crescendoh.com.
Stay tuned for more fun things to come on the book...thanks for celebrating this fun time with me!

How awesome Lori, congratulations! I'd love to get a glimpse of the special little space where you work your magic...and just between you and me, my bottom bumps into things no matter how big the room is :oP

Congrats Lori! I am glad they are showing small spaces too. We don't need a huge room to create.

Congratulations! I am glad they are showing small spaces too. When I first started stamping, my son left for the Navy, and I really thought we could put his room in the Guinness book of World Records for having the most stuff in one room. I carved out enough space in there to put a card table, and that was my stamping space for a long time. I slowly chipped away at the mess, and now I have a wonderful room, filled to the brim with supplies! The more room you have, the more stuff you buy, unfortunately.

sooo exciting! I can't wait to see this beautiful magazine Lori! I have always always loved your little craft closet. Who couldn't love it when it is filled with so much good stuff. Congratulations on this wonderful accomplishment!
p.s.- I have been trying to literally carve out a space in my home for a craft area and I have built my self a little room in my family room using old doors to section it off... It is VERY small so the way you use your space inspires me so much as I am sure it does MANY other women that just don't have the room for a whole studio.

I've already found the book in my local bookstore and have been drooling in envy over each page. I have to say, even with your creative space being as small as it is, it's amazing what you've done with it and how much beauty there is inside that little space. Makes me want to come in and take a closer look.

This is so exciting!!! Your craft "closet" is absolutely Gorgeous and it is one of THE most beautiful craft spaces I have ever seen! It just goes to show that you don't need a whole entire room to make your space your own and beautiful!!! I have been very inspired by your space! Can't wait to see the book! Congratulations!!!!
