Back from California

I just got back from a great business trip (yes...how lucky was I to go to CA on business) in California.  I stayed an extra day with a couple of my friends from work and they were able to accompany me to the Stampington offices to meet Jenny and the staff.  We had a great time on our visit and I feel so fortunate to be able to finally meet her.  I had trouble focusing on talking to her because every nook and cranny of the office was FILLED to the brim with amazing art.  I would think of something to say and out of the corner of my eye, I would see something and loose my train of thought.  She was so easy to talk to and if I lived closer she would definitely be one of my good friends.  I love when you met someone and you walk away wanting to get to know more about that person.  The lampshade that Jenny is holding was one of the frist submissions I sent in as a Bonne Vivante and at some point it will be featured in Somerset Life.

I don't think it is for me....

I was so excited to teach myself something new and I thought (ya right!) I would try and tackle soldering.  Well....I have to say it is NOT easy and I don't' think it is for me.  It looks so easy in the Sally Jean book, but I have to say it is NOT EASY AT ALL...Yes, you have it right I am yelling because I am annoyed.  I put all my supplies away and I think I will go have a bowl of ice cream.

Back to school

Gosh....Where in the heck did summer go?  It seems like my girls just got out for the summer and now they are back.  Well, if you have girls you will understand this, it has taken my girls weeks to figure out what they were going to wear for the first day of school.  I am happy to report they FINALLY figured it out.  I think I am in trouble....did you notice Lily-Grace's skinny jeans?  She thinks she is a fashion model.  So funny. Look at their sneakers, they are from Sketchers and all I have to say is....I wish I would of had a pair of them when I was little.

Miss July

I am so excited to be a part of the 2010 Somerset Life calendar.  I just received my copy in the mail the other day and I am tickled pink that my paper dolls were chosen. 

P.S.  I asked my husband what he thought about being married to Miss July and he just laughed at me.

Busy week

Just a quick hello....I can't believe the week is almost over and school starts next week for my girls.  I have one who is so excited to go back and another one saying why do I have to move up a grade.  Funny how your children can be so different.  I have really nothing creative to share but I thought I would share one of my favorite vintage books.  I love the image on the front.  I am off to try and get my fussy Lucy to bed.  She now has two teeth....where has the time gone?

Happy moments

I bought this lovely old quilt from the thrift store (for only $2.00) and I originally planned to use it at the beach to lay on when we head back to Michigan in a couple of weeks....But when I got it home, my girls did this with it and it made my heart happy.  A happy little moment to make me smile.

 

Sneak peak

  

Over the weekend, I worked on one of my Silver Bella swaps and here is a sneak peak.  I am so glad this swap is done and now all I have to do is work on the vintage paper swap I am hosting.  If you could of seen Lucy and I over the weekend....I was crafting while I had her in her sling.  I think she is going to grow up a crafty girl, she already has many hours of crafting under her belt.
