This is just a quick post to say hello. Gees, I have been busy today and I had big plans to work on this art journal. Instead...I think I am going to snuggle on the sofa and watch a movie. I did get the first couple of pages done. I think this one is my favorite below. I will show you the rest of the pages later. My husband is calling telling me to hurry up because our movie is starting. Have a great night.
I get a lot of emails wondering how I get all of my projects completed with having a new born and working full time. Well, here you have it...this photo was taken during the week at 7:00 a.m. The kids were all ready to go to school and the baby was sleeping so I decided to not sit down and drink my coffee before we had to leave. I only had a half an hour and I quickly applied some paint to some journal pages that I wanted to work on the following night when the kids were a sleep. I wish I would just sit and listen to some music and have an entire house to myself but that is not my reality. I squeeze it in here and there anytime I see an opportunity. The funny thing was, I went to a meeting at 9:00 and I noticed I had pink paint on my thumb. I laughed at myself.
My girls wanted their own cupcake stand for their room and since it is decorated in hot pink, black and white. We all decided to continue with those same colors. I wanted to do something that would stand out more, but they didn't seem to think I knew what I was talking about. I was out ruled. I painted the cardboard standblack and used black and white scrapbook paper to cover the rest of the stand. I still want to make another one using my favorite vintage wallpapers so I think I might go back to Wal-Mart for another one. I couldn't resist when my little ones wanted one for their room too. Ugh...I had the flu for the past two days. My middle child had it too and I hope the rest of the family will not get it. Being sick is not fun...let me tell you. Today is the first day that I actually feel better. I am so bummed...now that I am back to work, I totally live for the weekends to get my art projects done. Oh well, there is always next weekend. On another note, aabove is a photo of Lucy's socks that she has been wearing. Aren't they cute? I just had to show all of you. Below is a bracelet that one of my neighbors made for me. I gave her a pile of old jewelery and buttons and this is how it turned out. I love it. Well I am off to lay on the sofa and relax while my husband took the kids to church. Have a great Sunday.
When one of my daughters says Momma can we make something today, my heart melts and I usually stop what I am doing and try to help. Olivia mentioned to me that she would like to work on her sewing skills...don't you just love it? She is turning out to be quite the sewer. I am impressed that she remembers what not to do and what to do. I had some supplies laying on the dinning room table and she gathered all of the supplies and wanted to make something just like her Momma. The kicker is, she wanted to take her little creations to show and tell at school. I get teared eyed just talking about it. Do you notice that she is wearing her own crafting apron (yep, she brought that to show and tell too)? I made it for her while I was on maternity leave. She wanted one like mine. I know there will be a day that she will become her own person and may not like my art but for now, she loves it... so, I will take it. She made a little box for her sissy too. I have to say I LOVE when they get along.

I bought this Martha Stewart (it cardboard) cupcake stand kit at Wal-Mart a few days ago. It is plain white and I added some vintage ledger paper and a few old earrings. I bought two of them and I plan on using some vintage wallpaper on the other one. You all should go out and get one and embellish it as you choose. It was so much fun to make.
Oh ya, happy Valentines day...
Thank you to all of you that have sent me notes or left comments on going back to work. You are all so sweet! My husband is staying home for the next two weeks with Lucy so going to work wasn't too bad this morning. I had dinner waiting for me when I came home....that was very nice and I could get use to that. At work I had 500 emails to go through today and I think I deleted 400 of them. My girlfriend at work gave me a vase full of fresh tulips to welcome me back....how sweet was that. I was bummed this morning that I was not able to sit at the computer and drink my morning coffee and catch up on all of my favorite craft blogs. I will have to figure out how to keep up on them. I just need to get back into the flow of things. On another note, last week I received a wonderful swap package in the mail from Lilia. I just adore her style and look at all of my goodies. I loved everything. I am going to leave you with these wonderful photos and I am off to curl up in bed and relax.
On Monday my maternity leave is officially over and I head back to work. Gees, it flew by. My friends keep asking me if I am OK with going back...my reply is I have to be ready. It is what it is. Yes, I wish I could stay at home but I don't have that option. I do like that I am able to afford things in life because I do work. I spent to much money while I was at home and if my husband asks, I will never admit to it. So, shhh don't tell him. I also like showing my girls that their Momma is a strong woman who can tackle many things in life. If you read my blog I really don't talk much about my professional life just about if I have to travel here and there. You are probably wondering what I do for a living, well...I do consumer research for a large company. I am kind of like the voice of the consumer, making sure the products that my company makes are in line with their target consumer. It is actually a great job and I am fortunate enough to work for a great company. Anyway...enough about that. I just listed a wallpaper pouch (just like the one I made myself a couple days ago) in my Etsy shop. I wish I would of had time to make more today. I made this one with Lucy in her baby sling. I need to make good use of my time. I am off to dinner with some friends so I have to go. Have a great night.
Ok...I have the computer issues resolved and I listed all of these items in my Etsy shop. I plan on listing some wallpaper pouches this weekend. I just didn't have time to make them!
My laptop is having major computer problems and after two calls into the help desk I am tired of trying to fix it....so no Etsy update. I am working on my daughter's Asus notebook computer and the keyboard is SO SMALL and I can't see what I am typing. i will keep you posted on my Etsy update. I plan on listing this fabric pennant I made in my shop. Have a great Friday and hopefully my computer issues will be resolved soon.
