I made these newsprint pouches for Cerri to send her some lovely ruffles. You can't tell from this photo because the ruffles blend in to the tissue paper I sewed on to the pouch...sorry! I made these ruffles with some scrap fabrics I had laying around. I love the color pallet, soft beige and light blue (I know the photo it terrible, you can't see the ruffles at all but I am way to lazy to retake the photo). This ruffle below is from a vintage prom gown that I cut up because it was in terrible condition but I was able to salvage a few good scraps.
These ruffles are from clothing that I found at a thrift store. I am always on the look out for clothing that has great elements that I can use in my art.
My oldest daughter Olivia helped me make these sweet little pouches. She is quite the sewer! She and I actually made about a dozen of these pouches, she sewed and I glued on the flowers and trim. I am loving the free labor. It is so nice to be able to spend time with her. I am hoping that it will not change. I know one day she is going to think her mom is not so cool but I will take every minute of it now. Below is a photo of all of them.
Well I am off to go snuggle on the sofa with my hubby. Take care, Lori
P.S. I am not loving the new way Typepad has their spell check. It is kind of annoying.....do you agree?
Congratulations on your posting milestone! Don't fret about frequency, it's quality that counts... and that my dear you have in spades :). Enjoy that precious new life - it all goes by too fast!
