These wonderful stars were 40% off at one of my local decorating stores. That made these little beauties, only $1.00 a piece! I have big plans for them to use them in my upcoming holiday decorating. So you are probably wondering how many I bought? Well of course I had to buy them all. Do you to go over board when you see a good deal? I do....and I am quite OK with it. Have a great Sunday!
I am working a half day today and WOW, I got a lot of projects finished. It feels good to get things DONE!
First I finished my last pages in the round robin that I am participating in. Dede's book is finished as here are a few photos from Bonnie's book. I had a great time working on everyones books.
Second, I made a sweet little party hat for our neighbor's daughter, Maggie. She is turning 1 in October and she going to need an extra fancy party hat to celebrate her big day.
Is this fan wonderful or not? I use to visit this every time I went one of my regular antique stores and now I just need to look on my dresser. I finally bought it and months looking at it. I originally fell in love with the vintage hydrangea flowers and every time I would look at it, I would fall in love again. I think I am a sucker for anything with vintage millinery flowers. Ya...I know you all are too! I was standing at the counter at the antique store fanning myself and a couple walked by and laughed at me! How dare they uh? They caught me thinking to myself...I wonder who this use to belong to? I was thinking for a moment, I bet it use to belong to this beautiful southern belle drinking sweet tea in the company of a young gentleman. I had the whole picture in my mind and then they walked by..so funny.
As you all probably know, I am constantly looking for any type of fabric with lush ruffles for my lampshade kits. I really don't discriminate when searching for fabric, it could be the worlds ugliest plus size bridesmaids dress, an awful over the top pageant dress for a little girl or vintage curtains someone has given away. I try and see the beauty or hidden potential in anything when I am out and about. Andrea left me a comment and said that I was the queen of trash to treasure. When I read that I had the biggest smile on my face. What a wonderful thing to say to a girl! I told my husband and he said that is a good thing? I just laughed at him. I found this wonderful vintage petticoat and I was going to use it for a lampshade kit but I just can't bring myself to cut it up. I like to cut up the ugly stuff and make it look beautiful, not cut up the pretty stuff. I have NO idea what to do with it, but I am going to hang on to it and enjoy the crumpled satin ribbon, lace and ruffles. Hmmm....Maybe I should wear it around the house while vacuuming? I sure would look funny but I would feel pretty! Oh..while I bought the petticoat, I also bought this wonderful blue silk lingerie bag. It was on the bottom of a pile of old linens and it was like finding a treasure at the bottom of the pile. Isn't it wonderful?
Karla is having what do I love about my home party. What a fun idea! My favorite thing about my home is photos of my Grandparents. I am very fortunate to have many photos of my Grandmother...Agnes (AKA great grandma Aggie their guardian Angel). The girls pass by her photos and say hi grandma Aggie. So cute. I many more photos of her that I will share at some point.
Disclaimer~Sorry these are not new photos but I am having trouble taking photos after the kids are settled for the night...it is getting dark already. I am not ready for it!
Well I have had many people email be about my lampshade kits and I have sold a few before I could post them. I made these two like little drawstring slips so they would fit any size lampshade. I love the flowers that I put on these.
Here they are on a lamp (FYI...I need a new vintage lamp to model my creations because this black one it not cutting it).

I worked on Dede's round robin pages last night and here are some sneak peeks. I am the last person to work in her book and it will finally make its way back to her. 
Gees....it seemed like a crazy week uh? I am looking forward to the weekend! I am going to open up a bottle of wine and work on some lampshade kits. Keep posted for an Etsy update this weekend. I am working on some new kits with vintage hankies. I went to the flea market this week on my jam packed lunch hour. Here are some photos of my loot. This sweet little Madame Alexander doll was at the Goodwill. I am going to make a little floral hat for her from vintage millinery flowers.
This is a very large tulle tablecloth with vintage millinery flowers....for a $1.00.
Anytime I see vintage Christmas bulbs, I never pass them up.
I think these are mercury glass candy canes. I have big plans for these!

Before I share some happy moments with you I have to tell you about my day. Yesterday I picked up my brand 2008 car and everything was fine until this morning. I went to start it and go on my merry way and IT WOULDN'T START.....There is only 29 miles on it! So after two hours waiting for the tow truck and leaving an hour early to get a rental. I hope to have my new lemon back tomorrow. Funny thing the nice woman at the dealership gave me the best rental car on the lot....guess what it is???? I am proudly riding in a burgundy 2008 Cadillac with leather (very plush) seats. So funny. I am now riding in style. Can anyone beat 29 miles on a car and already at the dealership?
OK........enough about that. I am over it.
I was going to post about something completely different but I was looking at these photos and they made me smile from our trip to Michigan. These photos are from Traverse City trip just with my husband. Look how pretty this photo turned out with the light shining through.

This is my favorite picture....it was from an antique booth. Fun uh? I gotta just love a pink bike with wings!
This was a fun shop and I loved their window. Look how they made this flower garland with tulle. Very clever. I am going to make my own version with my girls.
I always look at this sign and smile....yes we did buy fudge there.
Well my friends...I am off to a much deserved bubble bath.
