I can't believe it is my 100 post!

I am shocked that I have 100 posts under my belt.  I think to myself all the time...OK what in the heck am I going to post about this week?  It all seems to work out and finding something to talk or share about just works its self out.  I do enjoy what blogging has bought to my life.  I have meet some wonderful women and I love that my little blog is making me more creative and artistic than I have ever been.  I know I can take a photo of the littlest detail and share it with all you and you just simply get it.  I love it!  I just wanted to say thanks and I will keep trying to post wonderful photos and share great ideas with you all.

I can't have a post without showing you a little something something...right?  I have been wanting to fix up my little half doll and she is now finished.  I used some bits and pieces from an old hat and necklace for her crown and necklace, scraps of a silk throw for her dress and I glued her to an old medicine bottle for some height.  (OH NO...I think she has a bit of pencil marks on her chest and hand...I just noticed it when I was looking at my post before I published it.  Can you believe what people do to such pretty things? LOL! I am going to have to erase those marks).  I just love her and her lips and eyes.  I am off to Ebay to find another one...she needs a friend.

Etsy Update - Lampshade trim kits

I have had a couple of you asking me when I was going to be making more lampshade trim kits.  I made three more with this fabric that has the best ruffles.  I had to increase my price by a few dollars on this batch because I had to sew the fabric together. So, there was a bit more work involved in this batch.  I just listed them in my Etsy shop.

This is the crown that Kasse made for me from Holly's Crown and Tiara Swap.  I put it on top of a picture frame in our foyer.  I thought I needed a bit of sparkle when our guests walk in our front door.  It looks great Kasse....Thanks

My daughter swiped one of my projects to be...

I came home from work the other day and my daughter was SO proud of her of herself.  She waited all day for me to come home and show me what she did with my Styrofoam head.  Dawn gave it to me to display a vintage floral hat.  But, I wouldn't change it for the world.  Look at my daughter.  Funny uh?  She cut out construction paper for her hair and stapled it on.  She also used an old bracelet for her necklace.  Resourceful girl uh?

I first saw these sweet little chairs on Andrea's blog back in May.  When I saw them, I instantly fell in love with them.  A couple of months ago, I bought a set of six for only $4.00!  I just love them. Last night I was going through my mail and my new issue of Romantic Homes was delivered.  I was going through it really quick (I just came home from work and I was still holding my purse and keys...I have no patients) and look what I found.

I have them displayed in our desk area in the kitchen with some pottery.   

Is it Tuesday already?

Wow....we went away for the weekend with another couple and time is just flying by!  I needed to get caught up at home so no blogging for a while.  I am back now and happy to be all caught up.  We went away to Hot Springs, Arkansas with our friends.  It is so nice to go away with other families who have children around the same age as yours.  Look at this view from the lake house.  So peaceful, uh?

We were suppose to go to the downtown area (I wanted to post pictures of the pretty architecture of the hot springs and bath houses, sorry maybe next time) but after this antique shop, we spent way to long at this great flea market.  I think we were there for over 2 hours.  One great booth after another.  Look at this Dollie with a crepe paper dress.  Isn't she sweet?  I just love her hair.  I would of bought her but she way way to expensive. 

Here is what I bought.  There are actually 5 hats here and the best part was...they were all under $10 each!  I will keep some in tact and the others I will use the flowers for projects.

I bought this great gold locket with multiple chains.

I always wanted one of these old rulers but they are always to expensive, but this time it was in my price range...cheap!

I saved the best of all for last...Look at this sweet little girl.  I just love her face and red hair.  She is in need of some TLC and I am just the one to give it to her.

She already found home on our mantel.

My girlfriend bought this sweet little doll head for $5.00 and she is going to make her a party hat out of vintage sheet music.  I can't wait to see it when she is done.

Etsy Update - Lamp Shade Trim Kits

I had someone ask me about my lamp shade trim kits and I planned on making few of them (they should of been done last month)but it kept falling to the bottom of my list.  She inspired me to get off my you know what and I made four of them up and put them in my Etsy shop.  The kit is priced at $12.00 + $2.00 shipping and included in the kit are: instructions, corsage pins, vintage millinery flower, lace or netting and yard and a half of white chiffon with a great ruffle.  The kit doesn't include a lamp or shade, this is just for you to use on a lamp shade you already have.  There is quite a bit of fabric included so it can accommodate different sizes of lamp shades.  Here are the photos of the different kits.  I wrapped the chiffon fabric around the shade pictured three times.

Before I had my own blog, I read Pam Garrison's blog daily.  I was truly mesmerized by her art work.  I had never seen anything like it.  I would just sit and drool over all of her wonderful photos.  When she sold a few originals on Etsy (1 1/2 year ago) I bought this one and I just love it!  I have it hanging in my kitchen by an old millinery pin.  Every time I walk past it it makes me smile.

When I got this little master piece in the mail, it inspired me to make a collage of my very own.  I am very fortunate to have many beautiful photos of my Grandma (Agnes) and I wanted to use on of them.  So, this was my first attempt at a mixed media collage over a year and half ago.  My collages have changed a bit since my first one.  Agnes is on the bottom right.  I posted this collage before I had a blog on Flicker but I was looking at it last night and thought I should share it on my blog as well.

 

Sneak peak at round robin pages

If you read my blog on a regular basis, you already know that I have been working on a round robin with Dawn, Dede, Victoria and Bonnie.  In the beginning wasn't sure I should participate in a round robin because I am not sure if the other gals would like what I would do to their own book.  You know what I mean?  But...I am so happy that I am participating in this because I am having a great time with each book that I receive.   Here is a sneak peak at what I did for Dawn.
