Do you want to trade Moo cards with me?

I just received my Moo cards in the mail from Flicker and I LOVE them!  So, that got me to thinking.....there are so many photos on Flicker that are so pretty, inspiring or just so wonderful that I thought how about if I start a trade?    I would like to find five people to trade just five Moo cards with me and I will do the same with you.  Just leave a comment if you are interested and I will email you back to get your address and then we can trade.  What do you think?

Vintage fabric pillow

I went to my favorite antique mall and one booth that I love everything in always has the best down hand made pillows.  I look at them every time I go and this time I finally bought one.  I am so happy I did....I just love how it looks with my daughters bedding.  Good news, she loves it too!  The roses are bark cloth fabric and the back is white chenille and damask fabric.  There were other pillows there and I am going to go back and get one more.  I love that every pillow in the booth are all different yet they all looks so great together.  I'll post another photo when I go back.

Pottery of the week

I just received my latest issue of Romantic Homes magazine in the mail the other day. I either love everything in the issue or I don't really find it to interesting. Well, this time I found many pages of interest to me. I found this amazing matte white vase. I wish it was mine....Isn't it just gorgeous? I also found this bedding that is just scrumptious. Oh, how would I love to give this photo to a seamstress and say please make this exactly how it is pictured and by the way, I am not concerned with a budget.  I need to get back to reality. 

Vintage wallpaper candles

The other night I decided to make a few candles with some of my vintage wallpaper.  Well, six candles later I couldn't stop! I just love anything with vintage wallpaper and trim. So, I decided to put them in my Etsy shop. 

Quick detour to a gargae sale

On Saturday afternoon on my way home I saw a garage sale sign a couple streets away from my house.  I had both kids with me and only 5 minutes to spare but we went really quick.  We actually hit it big and I only spent $5.50.  I bought a bag of vintage doll and baby clothing for .50 cents.  The thing is they were with a vintage baby cradle with the sweetest little nursery images on the head and foot board.  I told the man that I didn't need the cradle (It was only $2.00 and I am not sure what I was thinking?  I should of bought it but it is hard to think when you kids are running around).  Here is a crochet baby sweater, bonnet and booties.

I already hung it on my daughter's curtain rod.  The rest of the clothing were doll clothes and my girls just love them.  There were cotton sheath dresses, bloomers and bonnets.  Perfect for American Girl dolls. We also bought this chair for a doll for $2.00. 

I bought these dolls for $2.00 and they looked so sad in the box.  They have all their original legs and arms.  Maybe I'll try and restring them or use them in a project.  Can you believe there were more dolls and I DIDN'T BUY THEM!  Later on Saturday I said to myself what was I thinking? 

This rose plate was $1.00.  There were also three boxes of old doll books and catalogs.  I should of bought them for the images inside. I just didn't have time to look through them and watch the girls.  Oh well....I am happy with what I bought!

The time goes by so fast

I was cleaning out my daughter's closet and I found this little water color of her as a baby at 6 months.  I am not sure how it got there and I actually forgot about it.  It is such a sweet keepsake of my daughter that I needed to do a little something to it.  My daughter picked out the crown, vintage wallpaper and seam binding.  I love to get her involved.  We both think it turned out pretty cute and I hope you do to.

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

This morning my daughter and I walked in the Race for the Cure with our figure skating club.  I am always trying to find ways to teach my children about cancer because last year my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She was very fortunate that it was caught early and she didn't have to endure chemotherapy.  Today she is healthy as can be. My mom was lucky and there are so many women who are not so lucky.  I figure it is never to early to teach your children about things like that.  I am off to an impromptu party at my neighbors for the women and the children (the men are all playing poker).  Have a great Saturday night.

I was recently chosen by Heather at Pretty Petals Boutique for the Thinking blogger award.  I feel so honored that people find what I say or what I post interesting.  When Heather told me that she nominated me I was like me?  It is so funny because I read many blogs and think how creative others are or how wonderful their style is and when someone tells me what I am feeling about others.... it sure does make a girl feel good!  I read a lot of blogs and here are the 5 blogs that I read on a regular basis.

1.  Oh So Pretty- I am nominating Dawn not because she is my best friend but she is so creative.  She really should be a professional thrift store shopper.  It is amazing what she finds and the vision she has for an item that most people would be like, why are you buying that?

2.  Holly Doodle Designs - Holly was really one of my first blog friends and she has amazing style.  I really enjoyed the post about the people visiting her house and not getting it.  What is not to get? Her photos are gorgeous.  Oh ya...and those vintage wallpaper cigar boxes.  Just perfect.

3. Alice Lands - Lauren to me is truly an artist and I adore her work.  When she posted the photos of her studio....OH MY GOSH!  I would love to just sit there and look at all of her goodies.

4.  Andrea Singarella - Anything that Andrea makes or buys I LOVE it all.  I have read and re-read each of her posts twice.  A girl doesn't want to miss anything she has to say or her photos.

5.  Sis Boom Day Dreams - I have gotten very nice emails from Jennifer telling me that she likes my collages that I make.  I think her art and fabrics are amazing and when you get a compliment from someone that inspires you....it is a great thing.

I have more blogs that I just love and I could go on and on.  Thanks so much for all of the wonderful comments that you all leave.  I wish I could get back to you all, please know I read so many of your blogs but I just don't have a ton of time for comments.  You are all very inspiring.

Pottery of the Week and a little bit of hustle & bustle

Ok...I just have to complain for a minute.  I have been on the go all day.  Do you ever have a day when you are constantly running?  At lunch I came home to put away 8 loads of laundry and no time to eat. That is not how I want to spend my time at lunch!  After work I had to take the girls to their figure skating make up lesson with their coach.  No time for dinner and I barely got home for Grey's Anatomy.  I finally sank in my chair to watch MY FAVORITE show and my oldest daughter, bless her heart, kept getting up from bed to say she couldn't sleep.  OH MY GOODNESS.  I just need one second to myself.  Ok I have that off my chest.

Enough about my issues...Here is my pottery of the week.  It is a swan and I just love the curves.

Yesterday I received my Doodle pack from Holly and I love it!  Look how she addressed it...pretty inside and out.

I off to take a bubble bath and read the new issue of Country Living magazine. 

Kids artwork journals II

A couple weeks ago I made a few more of the journals to store my girls art work in.  This time, I had my oldest daughter help me pick out the wallpaper and images.  She even helped me do the gluing.  My girls are becoming very Crafty little ladies, I am not sure that is good when I am trying to get something done.  I know all of you with children know what I mean.  I stacked all of my daughters journals in her room and I love that she sits on her bed looking at her little works of art.

Here are a few close ups of the second round of journals.  This wallpaper is probably not the prettiest....but I got an entire roll for .50 so I had to buy it.  I NEVER EVER find vintage wallpaper when I am out thrifting.  So all of you out there that find it....I am very jealous!

I did a trade with Flea Market Studio a couple of weeks ago and Lilia actually made the ATC on the front.  This is not vintage wallpaper but when I bought the yellow wallpaper above they had this one as well and it was .50.  Both of my girls love pink so I knew it would work.

This one is made with vintage inspired wrapping paper (it is from the Dollar store....can you believe it?) It came out a bit wrinkled but that is OK.

I think this one is my favorite.  I used all of my vintage folders to make my art journals and I an now on the search for more folders.  I am going to try an office supply store.  If you see any that would work , please let me know.
